Navigating Success: Insights from Form 5 and 6 PTA Meeting



As Form 5 and 6 students edge closer to their examinations, the recent PTA meeting chaired by Mrs. Huxtuble ignited a sense of urgency and purpose. With 12 weeks remaining until the pivotal exams, parents, teachers, and students gathered to strategize and motivate for success.

Mrs. Huxtuble set the tone for the meeting, emphasising the crucial role parents play in their children's academic journey. She underscored the importance of parental involvement, urging parents to remain actively engaged during this critical period.

Following Mrs. Huxtuble's opening remarks, Mrs. Shindika delivered a powerful message centred on the formula for success. She emphasised the need for students to "add and subtract" in their academic pursuits, adding the necessary ingredients for success while subtracting any obstacles hindering progress. Mrs. Shindika also shed light on the proper use of social media, recognizing its potential as a tool for learning and networking when utilised responsibly. Her recommendation of "The Graduate Code'' underscored the importance of mindset and innovative thinking, urging students to break free from conventional constraints and embrace creativity.

Mr. Musaka echoed the sentiment of intentional action, urging students to declutter their physical and mental spaces. He emphasised the importance of setting clear goals and venturing beyond comfort zones to achieve personal growth and academic success.

A highlight of the meeting was the enlightening speech delivered by Mark Kaganda, the student body president. With passion and conviction, Mark encouraged his peers to stay focused, work diligently, and believe in their abilities. His words served as a source of inspiration, reminding students of their potential to overcome challenges and achieve their aspirations.

College advisor Alex Elifas provided invaluable insights into the importance of extracurricular activities and early university applications. He stressed the role of well-rounded exper



iences in shaping college applications and enhancing students' prospects for future success.

As the meeting concluded, a sense of determination and purpose lingered in the air. The collaborative efforts of parents, teachers, students, and advisors had ignited a collective commitment to excellence. With 12 weeks remaining until the examinations, the Form 5 and 6 community stood united in their pursuit of academic achievement and personal growth.
